Oh Buddy!

Somedays I wonder if maybe I'd like to have another child. Most days I think probably not. Today was one of the few days that I absolutely, definitely do not want anymore kids!

This morning Steve and I were both busy with our own things, not paying attention to Roman. That was a mistake. We found him in the kitchen where he had emptied half of the refrigerator, sprayed the walls, cupboards and floor with chocolate PediaSure, and smashed about ten eggs on the floor.

Notice how he's hanging his head in shame? He knows he's in trouble. What a mess! So Steve took Roman upstairs to clean him while I started cleaning the kitchen. Steve left Roman alone for a minute in Grace's room, where he then proceeded to break Grace's nightlight.

Later, I went to check on Roman during his nap. Here's what I found:
Yuck! I had to wake him up to clean the mess. What a lovely day. :) I sure hope tomorrow goes better.

Is she smart or what?

Today, out of the blue, Grace came up to me and said, "Did you know that two fifteens is the same as ten and twenty?"

I had to think about that for a minute. Then I realized what she had said. Wow! She's not even in kindergarten yet. How smart is this little girl?

One year down, two to go!

Steve finished his first year of law school today. YAY! Way to go Steve! The first year was a challenge for all of us, but Steve really did a great job. And the next two years are supposed to get a little better. Let's hope that's true!

The last three weeks have been consumed with intense studying for Steve, so we'll be glad to have him back for a while! We did okay though. We only had one call to poison control and one call to 911!* And we only ate frozen waffles for dinner once. :)

*Side note: The call to poison control was when Roman ate some anti-bacterial soap. That turned out to be no big deal. It will only make a child sick if he eats more than a mouthful. The call to 911 came in St. George when Roman was playing with the phone. I heard someone answer and I went to grab the phone. By the time I got there he had disconnected. So then the phone rang and it was a 911 operator calling to make sure we were okay. I told her yes, and explained what happened. I must not have been too convincing though, because the next thing we knew the police were pounding on the door! I guess that's good that they're so thorough, but I felt bad for wasting their time!

40 More Things About Deb (written by a fan)

61. Deb has a great sense of humor (she married me).
62. Deb is an incredible mother.
63. Deb was a big fan of the TV show Felicity. http://youtube.com/watch?v=6RF6OkwiA_A
